Brake inspections, pad and disc replacement and brake-fluid changes — your most important safety system.
Your brakes are the one system on your car you really can't afford to ignore, and they tend to let you know when something's not right. A squeal as you slow down, a grinding noise, a spongy pedal, a shudder through the steering wheel, or the car pulling to one side under braking — any of these is worth getting looked at sooner rather than later.
When you bring your car in, we carry out a full brake inspection covering:
- Brake calipers
- Flexi hoses and brake pipes
- Discs
- Pads
- Shoes and drums
We'll measure what's left on your pads and discs and tell you honestly how much life is in them — sometimes the answer is "you're fine for now", and we'll happily say so.
Brake fluid — the bit everyone forgets
Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, and once it does, it boils at a lower temperature and your braking can fade just when you need it most. Most manufacturers recommend a change every two years or 24,000 miles. We drain the old fluid, refill to the correct specification and dispose of the old fluid responsibly.
