Batteries

There's never a good time for a flat battery, but a frosty Burnley morning when you're already running late is about the worst. Batteries don't last forever — three to five years is typical — and cold weather is usually what finishes off one that was already on the way out.

Tell-tale signs your battery is tiring:

• The engine turns over slowly or hesitates when you start it
• Dashboard and headlights look dim, especially at idle
• You've needed a jump-start recently
• The stop-start system has stopped working
• A battery warning light on the dash

Before we sell you anything, we test the battery and the charging system — because a flat battery is sometimes the symptom, not the cause, and the real culprit can be the alternator. If it is just the battery, we'll supply and fit the right one for your car, usually while you wait. Modern stop-start cars need a specific AGM or EFB battery, and we'll make sure yours gets exactly the right type, coded in where the car needs it.
